Spacious, beautiful cottage on the Big Rideau.

This executive cottage is spacious, well appointed and stocked with everything you need. The grounds are private with a terrific deck, campfire and lovely gardens. We kayaked using the two provided and also rented a pontoon boat from a marina nearby to explore the lake. The dock is sunny all day; however, the number of stairs down to the water may be a challenge for some.

Memorable Family Vacation

It was our first stay at Big Rideau Lake House Retreat. With 4 children between the age of 6 and 13 and five adults we needed a big place to enjoy the beautiful country side and lakes. We were served in spades. House was clean and welcoming. There was a dock available right on the property so my pontoon was readily available for the family to enjoy. The waterways are amazing and there is lots to explore. The sounds of nature including the loons were adding to an overall pleasant stay. We discover other areas of big Rideau such as Westport with its little boutiques and, of course, ice cream for our group. My son and I enjoyed beautiful tennis courts near Crosby. The use of these courts was on an honor system. $5./player. We had the chance to meet the president of the club. It's a minimal contribution so be generous. In the same area there are different play structures and mini-golf. Recommendation: If you like a wide variety of food there are limited grocery stores in the area. Just arrived well stocked. Little set back was on the first day the septic backed up. Robin immediately addressed the issue which was resolved within 24 hours.
